Wouldn’t it be great if you didn’t have to manually update your all grade level groups when new students were added to your Kickboard site? Now you don’t have to!
Smart Grade Groups are groups that contain all students in a particular grade level (e.g. All 1st Graders, All 2nd Graders) and that can be configured to update with new students automatically when students are added to the Kickboard site. Smart Grade Groups can also contain multiple grade levels (e.g. a middle school group that contains all 6th, 7th, and 8th graders or an All School group that contains all of your school’s grade levels.)
Smart Grade Groups are denoted with an asterisk on the Students > Groups page.
To configure Smart Grade Groups, go to Students > Groups. Hover over the orange cog to the right of the group you wish to edit. Select the orange edit pencil.
From here, make sure the box in the left column next to “Automatically add [x] grade students” is selected. You’ll notice that your ability to see the individual students in that grade level goes away when you check off that box. In the center column, select all the grade levels that should be included in this group. Lastly, click the blue Save button at the top right of the screen.
