Mass Uploading Students to Groups
Mass uploading groups is a great option for the beginning of the school year to create all of your groups at one time. This function allows you to create one file with all groups and easily incorporates the group information you can export from your Student Information System.
Step 1: Go to Students → Groups
Step 2: Select the option to Upload Students to Groups.
Step 3: In the pop-up window, select the orange hyperlink to download the Student Group Template
Step 4: Fill in the .csv file with the required information and save it to your computer.
A |
B |
C |
D |
E |
F |
Group External ID |
Group Name |
Student External ID |
Student Last Name |
Student First Name |
Grade |
NOTE |
If a student belongs in multiple groups, list each group separately for that student, with one group assignment per row. |
CAUTION |
Columns B through F are required to create groups with this uploadable template. If the students on your site do not have assigned external IDs on Kickboard, the groups upload function will not work. |
Step 5: Return to Kickboard, select your file, and click Upload. You will be asked to review and confirm the changes before loading them onto the site. Kickboard will warn you about any errors in the file that need to be fixed before the changes can be made on the site.
CAUTION |
Uploading students to a group will replace the current group roster with the one you are uploading. |
Step 6: Once you have confirmed the changes are correct, click Confirm.
